‘SNL’ alum Sasheer Zamata wants to be ‘You’ character Joe Goldberg’s next victim

PARK CITY, Utah — Sasheer Zamata wants to be “You” protagonist Joe Goldberg’s next victim.

During a panel with the cast of “Spree” at the Sundance Film Festival, the former “Saturday Night Live” star revealed she just finished watching the Netflix series “You,” in which Penn Badgley portrays obsessive murderer Goldberg.

“I want to be in Season 3,” Zamata, 33, told IMDb’s Kevin Smith, who moderated the Acura Festival Village hosted panel. “I want to be the next murder victim.”

Zamata also reflected on her time on the variety series, calling it “boot camp.”

“I auditioned 4 times I think? … I felt like I left it all out there and I know I did my best,” she said. “It was truly a boot camp in all things entertainment. I’m grateful for all the lessons I learned.”
