Couple involved in Backstreet Boys proposal on ‘Good Morning America’ has already been engaged

Quit playing games!
A young New York couple melted hearts on “Good Morning America” on Tuesday morning, when Adam Diamond proposed to Priscilla Consolo as the weepy climax to a Backsteet Boys performance.
But we hear that the special moment may have been slightly less warm and fuzzy as it seemed.
“One small problem: the two have been engaged for over two years,” said a tipster.
The pair also bagged some press last time they got engaged, that time at a 2017 Christmas tree lighting ceremony hosted by Brooklyn Democrat bigwig Frank Seddio. The pair are both said to be “rising stars” in the Democratic party, with Consolo having served as an aide to state assembly member William Colton and Diamond having worked for state senator Roxanne Persaud.

“Georgetown’s fresh-faced civic leader Adam Diamond got down on one knee and slid a dazzling ring on his girlfriend Priscilla Consolo’s hand — a scene both Consolo and the crowd watched with awe, the new fiance said,” gushed the Brooklyn Paper at the time.
“In front of a large audience on Sunday night that included Mayor Bill de Blasio, Diamond got down on one knee, pulled out a Tiffany diamond ring and asked for Consolo’s hand in marriage,” cooed the Brooklyn Eagle, which published a picture of the happy couple with Hizzoner himself.
This time around, the Nineties band brought Consolo, who’d been in a small studio audience, onto the stage as they sang ballad, “I’ll Never Break Your Heart.” Then a panel moved revealing Diamond, who dropped to one knee.
But a source familiar with the situation told Page Six that in fact, it was a real engagement — because the pair had broken up. “They broke up after the first engagement,” said the insider, “So this was a second proposal of sorts.”
Diamond even used the same engagement ring to pop the question.
The whole thing appears to have come about because a Backstreet Boys Facebook group posted an ad from “GMA” saying, “Love is in the air! Are you ready to pop the question? We’re looking for a couple looking to get engaged LIVE on @GMA on 2/11!”
The “GMA” posting didn’t mention the Backstreet Boys, but the fan group said the proposal would be “with the assistance of our fave five.”
A source says that Consolo has said today — after this brouhaha blew up — that she and Diamond broke up in May 2019. But the insider says that if they did break up, the pair were clearly engaged again by November, well before Tuesday’s stunt. In fact, they say Consolo said in November that she’d just ordered her save-the-date cards.
Lawyer Consolo appears to be something of a Backstreet Boys superfan, and even dreamed online about having the band perform at their wedding, which was scheduled for this year, according to a wedding Website on The Knot.
A rep for the Backstreet Boys didn’t get back to us, nor did Consolo. Diamond couldn’t be reached.
