Meet the Super Bowl WAGs cheering on the Chiefs and 49ers

If Brittany Matthews’ latest Instagram stories are any indication, she’s ready to see boyfriend Patrick Mahomes shine in Super Bowl 2020.
The girlfriend of Kansas City’s quarterback — who has shown her support for Chiefs Kingdom all season long — will be rocking her red and yellow (and possibly floral) in Miami as Mahomes and company take on Jimmy Garoppolo and the San Francisco 49ers at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday.
While most of the action will be reserved for the field, some eyes will likely be drawn to the social media happenings by the players’ biggest fans: their significant others.

Kansas City Chiefs

Brittany Matthews

Mahomes’ main squeeze, Matthews regularly posts photos and videos on gamedays, including postgame celebrations. A fitness guru, Matthews also shares clips from her workouts, in addition to keeping her 270,000 followers abreast with her fashion choices — including a personalized No. 15 jacket.

Kayla Nicole

The girlfriend of tight end Travis Kelce, Kayla Nicole is a star in her own right with over 200,000 followers. The on-air host also has a famous fan in ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, who gave her a special shoutout last summer while complimenting Kelce’s life choices. The five-time Pro Bowler later replied to Smith, “Life’s all about making decisions!” The couple has been linked since 2017.

Sydni Paige Russell

Engaged to safety Tyrann Mathieu, “Honey Badger” popped the question to Sydni Paige Russell last May, presenting the stepdaughter of former Jets coach Todd Bowles with a sparkler estimated to cost around $250,000, according to TMZ. Their family has also recently expanded, as the couple announced the birth of daughter Mila Jill Marie in December. Mila has a big brother, Tyrann Mathieu Jr.

Tala Powell

Sammy Watkins’ longtime love, the wide receiver married Tala Powell in 2018, capping off their wedding day with a sweet serenade from R&B crooner Tank. The wideout has kept his 433,000 followers up to date on special occasions, including Powell’s birthday last year. “Happy birthday to my beautiful wife I love you I know you having a [sic] amazing time today continue being the superwoman that you are and lighting up the world with your beautiful heart we love you,” he posted to Instagram at the time.

Previously linked to quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, Kiara Mia was prescient when she said that everything she touches turns to gold. Following their infamous dinner date in July 2018, the porn star gushed about Tom Brady’s former backup, even predicting a future Super Bowl appearance. “I declared that they were going to make it to the Super Bowl,” Mia told TMZ in December. “He’s phenomenal, he’s talented, he’s a born star.”

Claire Kittle

A travel enthusiast, Claire announced in April she and tight end George Kittle had tied the knot, less than a year after getting engaged. “We pulled off a one of a kind wedding, thank you for gifting me this unexplainable love ❤️ I’m yours forever,” she wrote on Instagram. Claire has also been a prominent presence at 49ers games this season, including the NFC Championship Game against the Packers. “I could not be more proud of this guy right here,” she exclaimed.

Ashley Sherman

The wife of cornerback Richard Sherman, Ashley is the executive director of Blanket Coverage, Sherman’s official charity. The couple, who share son Rayden, 4, and daughter Avery, 3, tied the knot in 2018 with a destination wedding in the Dominican Republic. The lavish nuptials also served as a Seahawks reunion for Sherman, as he was joined by former Legion of Boom teammates Earl Thomas, Brandon Browner and Kam Chancellor, among others, per TMZ.

Mandy Shanahan

Married since 2005, head coach Kyle Shanahan and wife Mandy share three children, including son Carter, reportedly named after Lil Wayne. In 2018, the rapper even sent Shanahan and his son a care package. And while the Shanahan family will be rocking their red and gold on gameday, expect the Niners coach to be wearing his signature red cap.
“I would like to change my outfit up,” Shanahan told ESPN ahead of the NFC Championship Game. “My wife will not let me. I wore a red hat earlier in the year, and now she’s so superstitious that if I take that off, I may lose. It will only be because of that, according to her. So I’m usually going with my red hat and my white shirt.”
